Packing Tips

Packing may seem like it is an easy and simple process to do but when you will actually get into it you will find that it is much more difficult than any other phases of relocation process. The goods must be packed in the right method so that you will be able to relocate your stuff safely to the desired location. A successful relocation depends on how safely the goods have been reached to the desired location and that depends on how the goods have been packed so here are simple and easy packing tips that will help you to pack and move your home safely and securely to the desired location.

Use High Quality Packaging Materials

It is always advisable to use high quality packaging materials that are durable in nature and helps in preventing the goods from damages and breakages.

Use Right Sized Boxes

You should either use the original packaging box or the right sized boxes in which the goods will properly fit into it. Using a right size box reduces the chances of breaking and damaging goods hence instead of using the big size boxes use the appropriate packaging boxes.

Do Not Over-Pack

The weight of the boxes should be up to 30 pounds or less than that, do not over-pack the boxes otherwise you will face difficulties while lifting them up and the goods may spill out from the bottom of the boxes while lifting.

You have to keep these important things in mind while packing the goods, whether hire packers and movers or do it yourself. But there are many goods in a household and all of them are of different nature that should be packed according to its nature. So, here are some basic tips to pack your household goods like:

Dishes and Glassware

You must make a comfort bed in the box for packing plates or dishes. Wrap them in a bubble wrap and put them in the box using crumpled paper in the bottom and the top. Pack the dishes vertically in the box and use disposable in between each standing dishes to keep them safe from damages.

Furniture

Furniture is almost difficult for an individual to move it so; first you should disassemble it if possible. Remove the parts that can be removed. In particular, the legs, glass top, shelves, drawers etc. Wrap the legs in plane newsprint and the glass top in bubble wrap.

Picture/Frames

If the size of the frame is or more than 8 inches then it must be packed in standing position using the crumpled paper in between each frames. Use bubble wrap to pack the frames and if the size of the picture/portrait is 3 feet then pack it with moving blanket or small towels before putting it into the moving boxes.

Refrigerator and Small Appliances

Unplug the power cord to wash and dry all removable parts thoroughly. Pack all loose parts, including bins and shelves, in a secure container. Clean the appliances and wrap it with crumpled papers and then pack it in their original boxes.

These are some wise packing ideas that will help you to pack and move your stuff safely. But many uses printed newspapers which is not a wise choice this can be dirty that means even more washing in your new home the polishing of your furniture might be destroyed due to the newsprints.
